I think this command is doing that for xsf.  I had also added the font path
to the /etc/X11/fs/config using gnotepad.  Restarted XSF and then attempted
the command below.  I have rewalked those steps a second time to make sure
that I didn't fat finger it.  

Help!

You will probably find the information in
/usr/doc/XFree86-xfs-<something>/USAGE helpfull.  You will want to add
the TrueType fonts to the directories managed by the font server.
