Hi
I'm new to Linux which I am trying to install
(redhat linux 6) on my old Pentium 66 PC to give it a new lease of life but I'm
having problems with the recognition of my CD drive which is a Sanyo CDRH94A
running of a ESS ES688 sound card which claims to be 100% soundblaster16
compatible.
I've tried the following modules:
isp16=0x220,5,1
isp16=0x330,11,3
and
sbpcd=0x220,5,1
sbpcd=0x330,11,3
(sound card jumpers are set for:
sound: I/O = 220, IRQ = 5, DMA = 1
CD: I/O = 330, IRQ = 11, DMA = 3
I've also tried
sjcd=0x330,11,3
but I didn't really expect that to
work!
System details are:
Pentium 66 ,
Bios Award 12/19/94 (old!),
Bus: ISA & PCI,
RAM 40 Mb,
HDDs 1x 2Gb + 1x 550Mb,
Video: S3 Virge/DX/GX v3.43-01 with
4Mb
Any suggestions that you can make would be greatly
appreciated
Cheers
john
