This is because the RedHat printfilters call smbprint when the printer
is configured as a Windows printer. It does a few other things as well
- converting the input file format to the correct format, as well as a
few other things.

Looks like the version of Samba doesn't get along with W2K. I haven't
been keeping up with the Samba list, so I don't know if there is a later
version out that fixes this...

It may be. These were the permissions that 6.2 used, but it may have
