On my machine, with redHat 6.1 on it:
$ rpm -q up2date rpm
up2date-2.1.7-0.6.x
rpm-3.0.5-9.6x

So it seems you don't need rpm-4.0.1-0.6x.i386.rpm for installing
 up2date-2.1.7-0.6.x
And I didn't find
 libdb-3.1.so
on my machine ( I searched for it with 'locate') although having installed
 up2date-2.1.7-0.6.x on it ...
