Silly question, but have you contacted their support?  You probably have
an option for onsite service, and they can probably replace the screen for
you rather quickly.

The only problem I've had with Dell supporting my Latitude CPi is that
when we ordered what they caled the "Palm Rest", Dell actually sent the
bottom portion of the case.  Once that was straightened out, all was well.
