The problem with HowTo pages is that they're not always kept up to date.

The above link is to RedHat's hardware compatibility page for the 3C589
series of PCMCIA cards.
This card has been supported under Linux, with the 3c589_cs module, since
at least 4.2, when I was using the same card in an AST. However, the
card is not supported directly by RedHat (the company)...the module was
developed outside of RedHat's development centers.
