Hey thanks! This fixed a long-standing problem of mine. Since samba
seemed to work fine, except that every time I tried to mount a Windows
share it would give an error message, I had assumed that that part of Samba
was just buggy :) Especially since the unmounted mount-point would become
effectively lost to the OS (input/output error). Over lunch I installed
*all* the samba packages from the 6.2 and everything works great.

One question for the list: does anyone know which version is newer,
samba-2.0.6-9 or samba-2.0.6-19991011 ? RPM thinks the 1999 version is
later but I doubt it. I believe the 1999 version was either from 6.1 or
something I DL'd, cannot recall which. The other is the stock 6.2 package.
