Hmm, I don't have a ~/.inputrc

The machine is headless, gnome is not installed, and I am using an xterm 
from a remote machine (Exceed running under Win98/WinNT)

It used to work fine under 6.1, but 6.2 is causing this problem.

I will see what else I Can find.
