less than a dollar recently--I thought--are you sure it's not
US$145? anyway, maybe the price will go down soon).
Or, MyODBC is free, you can host the DBMS on Linux and use access or
whatever as your front end. (Assuming you have a couple machines and a LAN).
I like MySQL a lot but a technically (?) better (?) and more open choice is
PostgreSQL. But I don't know if there is a Windows port. MySQL is
generally held to be a lot faster than MySQL.
