Well, don't get mad, but why are you mounting Linux partitions with Samba?
Samba's really for Linux/Windows connectivity, not Linux/Linux
connectivity. I understand the need for Samba to connect to your Win*
machines, but I wouldn't use it to mount Linux partitions. Use NFS or
something.
