Can anyone help with this problem? I had it brought to my attention and have no idea of what to tell this guy. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running RH6.1 fine but don't have the depth to address this problem. Thanks in advance, Art Ross
Hey Art, boy am I tired of reformatting! I am currently taking a break from installing so that I can type you this email. Here is what has happened so far with the RH6.1 install. NOTHING!!!!!! OK, I am alittle frustraited and quite confused. How come Red Had did not give the option to create a Swap file in the 6.1 version when creating partitions with Disk Druid? Also, why is my serial mouse not being read and is not allowed to be installed from 6.1? When I go through the install, 6.1 will not let me click on next until I choose a PS/2 Mouse. I have the PS/2 selection turned off! I don't even have a PC/2 connector! Now, hopefully I can grab a PS/2 connector soon, and that would solve some problems that I am having. However, LINUX should be able to read all serial mice, especially a Logitech serial mouse which is what I have. But 6.1 is not reading it! Also, 6.1 will not let me finish my install. I can create a new root partition using Disk Druid but it will not let me click on next to go pass that point. I think this is because it does not let me create a swap file! So there you have it. I am going to install 6.0 and then try the upgrade with 6.1. At least with 6.0 I can install a swap file and the upgrade will just install over everything. I did this yesterday but after upgrading, I had difficulties install LILO onto the boot directory and the master directory. Man I have had some problems. Even tonight, after reformating my partition, 6.0 now will not mount my CD-ROM drive, is that dieing now! What next? Anyway, I got windows back up and that is why you were able to read this. I'll take any pointers about the mouse or anything else if you have them? Craig Christensen
