Umm, no they are not win printers. I have been using this printer ever
since RH 4.2, and never had a problem with it. I was always able to plug
it in, choose the 5xx series in printtol, and it worked great.
But, I noticed something:
lpc> status
lp:
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
no entries
no daemon present
lpc>
No daemon present??: --
[root@rackmount /root]# ps aux |grep lpd
root 1357 0.0 1.3 824 408 ? S 04:24 0:00 lpd
root 5846 0.0 0.7 784 220 p2 R 12:03 0:00 grep lpd
/etc/hosts.lpd has all my hosts in it. I have tried restarting lpd, it
starts but still that "no daemon present".
Ok now I'm really stuck....
