Hmmm... this interests me as one of the guys at work has the same problem
on his RH4.1 Box.. he is also running a WD drive.. (Mind you I am
running a WD Drive in my RH4.2 box at work without a problem).. We put it
down to something to do with the Multiport serial card he had in his
machine (the problems seemed to start happening after that was
installed).. so he removed the drive, I'm not sure of the current
status of the problem.. Now I'm not so sure that it was a prob caused by
the card...
