Have you guys and gals read about the lawsuit after some Boston(?) jerk
submitted perjured documents for
a U.S. Copyright(?) on LINUX in 1994? Just about every one who is anyone was
ready to put up the money to prosecute, but some of the big guys in software
actually joined the suit, as the underlying issues of theft and violation of
copyright law could have affected every software developer. Linus Torvalds
holds the
U.S. Copyright, for the kernal, and the theory of law are certainly valid for
the GPL likewise, and PERL, etc.,
so now we can close this topic and get back on topic, right? I don't recall
the URL for all the story, but I recall reading about it as recently as April
1998 on a Linux page.
