Please don't top post you never really know when a thread is dead. I would have liked to have left your orig question and the result at the top or this post but it is too hard to do with a combination of top and bottom posting. Also if you are running on RH 9 there is a significant slowdown in grepping if you have the LANG set to the default UTF stuff. if it seems slow try export LANG_ALL=C and try it again. Orders of magnitude faster.
