>From what I've heard, IP Tables is better than IP Chains. If you know what your IPChains rules do, you can just start from scratch. An easy way to do that, get shorewall from www.shorewall.net. You'll be off and running in no time if you read the QuickStart Guides and follow instruction I'm a newbie in IP filtering my self, and was able to do what I want easily that way. HTH.
