Does anyone have a tip/tricks that might help me in the future. I don't want to submit things to the this group for normal everyday types of installs (Like WiFi). Every now and then I just wish it would "Just Work" so I can get some real work done and not spend all my time search Google and asking questions to groups like this.
Request that your vendors start to support linux and not just windows operating systems.
The more support, the more likely for a standard for drivers to be produced that all linux distributions will keep to and the more user friendly hardware installations will become.
Until this point you will have to wait for the kernel hackers to reverse engineer the hardware and then write support for it into the kernel - which tends to be a slow process at times.
