That's pretty much why I looked it up. I was in a bad mood yesterday.

But signal 19 is the "STOP" signal, not the "Pause" signal, so I assumed (Yeah, I know..) that no pause/resume existed.

However, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet....."



But the man pages are always so clear;-) And it's obvious that the correct command to send arbitrary singal to porccess would be kill.



kill -s 19 <pid>
killall -s 19 command name
