What really kills me here is that I looked at those man pages
just before I posted, assuming that the feature had to be in Linux by
now.

But signal 19 is the "STOP" signal, not the "Pause" signal, so I 
assumed (Yeah, I know..) that no pause/resume existed.

However, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet....."


> kill -s 19 <pid>
> killall -s 19 command name
