One (SB Live!) Has a built in DSP, is SoundFont (midi) Compatible, and works better with old software (fasttracker). The other (Audiophile USB) has superior quality recording and playback capabilities. I plug them both in a mixer (Behringer Eurorack UB802) to playback record from each other (softsynth) and also to record instruments (guitar, bass) in one sound card while using the other to listen to a drum track (metronome) in a set of headphones. Duh!
