Humm, in Windows XP, if you change your computer name, you have to reboot. I must admit, XP does a lot better with the reboot thing. You don't have to reboot nearly as much as you did with previous versions. You still have to do it on occasion.
You give Windows too much credit. I plugged in my Epson Stylus Photo 870 printer into my Windows XP and got B&W images. I could not get color... On another box, I plugged in a modem and it simply ignored it. I had to go in and force it to find it. The only reason I still use Windows is for my games. Half of them don't work properly in XP though, even in Windows 98 compatibility mode. Am I hard on Windows? Yes. Why? Although all other parts of the computer have dropped drastically in price, Windows has not. Although all other parts of the computer have gotten faster and more efficient, Windows has not. Now that's just comparing the desktop versions. There isn't any comparison on the server versions. Linux or FreeBSD win, hands down. Finally, I don't like monopolies (except when I'm playing the game and I have them all). They limit choices and reduce innovation. > On Thu, 2003-03-27 at 18:56, Jim Wilferling wrote: >> On Thu, 2003-03-27 at 07:42, brent nicholls wrote: >> > Ovi you are doing somthing wrong with windows!!
