Who says they don't have a schedule? What I'm saying is that won't tell
you or I the schedule. There's a very big difference in the information
that the public gets versus what they know.

How or why you're comparing them to Microsoft is beyond me. Microsoft
has 100% control over the code they release - it's all developed and
tested in-house. Red Hat gets the majority (but not all) of their code
from outside sources. Sure, some is buggy and they work with those
developers to make sure they're aware of the problems. They may even
fix a few themselves. In the long run, though, Red Hat has to decide if
they release a prior version that has a different set of bugs, is
lacking key features that users want, or release a new version with new
bugs.

The Red Hat 8.x line is a bleeding edge release. If you want more
stability at the expense of features, go with the Enterprise line. Note
that I'm still not saying the Enterprise line is bug free, because it
isn't.

Remember that Red Hat is more of a distributor and packager than
developer. The sooner you understand the roles of Red Hat, SuSe,
Caldera, etc. in the open source community, the more intelligent
decisions you can make. Currently, you seem to be under the impression
that Red Hat is taking responsibility for every bug in every package,
and that simply is not going anytime soon, especially at the price most
people pay.
