RH 8.1 is due out in April - but then again, I also got sick of waiting; and after finding out the kernel versions aren't moving any further along, I went with Mandrake 9.1rc2 - which covered my needs for KDE 3.1 and for making things "work right outta da box" without a huge kludge of patches and whatnot to get it working the way I want it working. For my servers, though, I shan't move from 7.3 until 8.1 is well beyond the mark of "just getting out" - time has taught me that any version of any distro that ends with a .0 is NOT a good idea to use for practical purposes. RH 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 - very quickly update distros were released - check the history. Ditto with any other distro/version. It just saddens me that RH 8.0 is what it is and ain't catering to anything more. RH 7.3, OTOH, at least is stable, relatively bugfree, easy to customise, and, well, stable keeps coming to mind. Out of all the computers I sell with linux preloaded (by me), the only one I've gotten back was the RH 8.0 box.
