And I said both "in most cases" and "recompiling and testing".  I'm not
saying that *anyone* can do it.  I'm suggesting that there ARE members
of the Red Hat community capable of doing it, and that some of those are
probably willing to donate their time to ensure the continued life of
platforms that they are interested in using. 

If the Debian user community can support an OS that's well known for its
stability, what makes you think that we can not?
