I recently changed over my 5.0 system to PAM authentication, which works
fine by the way...

the only thing I noticed is that *some* accounts no longer track UID to
username. That is to say, if I log on as user X, instead of getting the
username in the prompt, linux tells me "[I have no name!@hostname]"

Everything works fine, just the darn prompt is funky. And, it doesn't
happen for ALL accounts, just some..
