Patrick, I might be able to help if you can tell me something about how your 
drive is currently partitioned & where you're trying to install from.  Device 
or resource busy indicates that the drive partition is currently mounted; as 
if you may be trying to install to the partition you're trying to install 
from.  As an example, if you're trying to do a hard drive based install from 
/dev/hda1 to /dev/hdb and have told the system that you want to use /dev/hda1 
as one of your linux partitions.

Bit more information about how you're trying to proceed would help.
