I've had bad luck with PS/2 mice. Besides using up an interrupt (agh!), I
seem to have problems when flipping between "X" and a console window -- my
mouse goes haywire. 

Keyboard doesn't come back sometimes too. I think there might be some
boojums in the SVGA server :-(. 

I've never been dumped out of XFree86 though. That, at least, seems solid.
I'm about to upgrade to the very latest XFree86 and hope that'll solve my
problem. Then I'll yank that PS/2 mouse off my machine and put the old
reliable Mickeysoft serial mouse back on.
