Hi all,
I've just installed RH5.0 without any real problems. I've only been
using Linux for 6 hours and just about managed to get a new kernel complied
:). I want to move away from NT4 but won't until I've got everything
working. I now want to try and get my modem to work. I went to the network
part of the control panel, set it up using PPP and put in the phone number
etc... However I hit activate and the nothing for about 2 minutes. So I
decided it wasn't working and hit deactivate. Then the modem kicks in and
life gets confusing. At the moment the kernel is 2.0.32 and I'll take it to
whatever later.
I would just like to now where there is a good place to start for
configuring the modem, ISP connection and news etc. I had a look at the
HOWTO's but couldn't find anything. Can anyone point to a good place to
start? I just want a beggingers guide if there is anything like it or at
least the modem. Well now onto the TV Card... :)
