Hi ports --
Attached is a new port, games/strife-ve. Strife-ve is a source port of The
Original Strife: Veteran Edition.
You will still need the game from GOG.com
With the data from the steam release this runs though the step of
copying a config file into a path in $HOME to in turn point to
/usr/local seems like something that could be patched out.
I don't have the steam version but will look into it.
With the videos the audio crackles for some reason.
Hmm... I'll have to see if I can reproduce.
It is also possible to use the wads from the ve release with
games/chocolate-doom.
True. But I was under the impression that the reason someone would want
to use this over chocolate-doom is to take advantage of the higher
quality music and videos. Am I wrong about this?

pkg/DESCR:
strife-ve is the GPL Source Release of The Original Strife: Veteran
Edition. Strife is considered to be the original FPS-RPG game.
The plot takes place in a world taken over by a religious organization
known as "The Order"; the protagonist, an unnamed mercenary (sometimes
referred to as Strifeguy), becomes a member of the resistance movement
which aims to topple the Order's oppressive rule.
Strife added some role-playing game elements to the classic first-person
shooter formula, such as allowing players to talk to other characters in
the game's world or improve the protagonist's abilities.
