How long does a domain remain "in limbo" after expiration,
and non-renewal? I researched a domain that reads in part:
Record last updated on 24-Jul-2000.
Record expires on 07-Jun-2000.
Record created on 07-Jun-1998.
Database last updated on 19-Sep-2000 15:36:25 EDT.
Domain servers in listed order:
NSX.NTX.NET 209.1.144.216
NSC.NTX.NET 204.107.140.15
So, it's been over 3 months that since the name expired,
although, the record was updated 2 months ago; possibly,
the name server, but a 404 comes up when surfing to this
domain, is the registrar (TABNet Excite Registrar (TER2-ORG)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] just "holding" on to it? Of course,
it was originally registered with NSI, since they still had
the monopoly back then. As far as I know the admin contact
is valid, but it's an @MSN.com address, although the snail
contact IS correct, so, TABNet shouldn't have difficulty
contacting the owner by snailmail, but he's been unresponsive
to my inquiries, nor, did he ever publish to the site.
Thanks,
tom
