Regarding the Tools Area separator color being different: I agree with Hugo, and have voiced this concern before. It's also not consistent with the mockups and IMO the presented justification demonstrates why the different color isn't needed: the Tools Area's background color is already different, which aids in the visual separation. IMO the separator color doesn't need to be changed.
