no, it's not.
you agree that it's good in concept, but disagree that it's good in practice. 
I believe his example was meant to illustrate that (at least for some users) 
it's good in practice as well as in theory.

so it seems where we disagree is whether inaccurate information (which users 
are aware is inaccurate) is better than no information.
