Okay, I am not new to the PDML; just came back around after a time away. I
have found the discussion lively, interesting, sometimes offensive, but
always challenging and informative. I have learned things here I would never
have learned elsewhere so easily and completely. My questions are answered
by knowledgeable and experienced photographers who care whether I have the
information I need to achieve my photographic objectives. My hat is off to
all of you for putting in your two cents worth.

I want to have a chance to get to know just a little more about those of you
whose names I see day in and day out as I read your emails and hear your
thoughts and opinions. I have seen your images and knowing the emotional and
artistic side of photography I know that each of you has shared a piece of
yourself in sharing your art. I would like to ask something and please try
ever so much to leave humility aside for a brief moment and talk about your
current vocation and your involvement in photography. Are you a photographer
by trade or do you have another vocation and what kind of photography are
you into and why? Perhaps mention where you live.

I will (of course) begin for everyone. I am a software systems engineer by
trade for a software firm in New Jersey. But I live just outside of Kansas
City, Missouri. Photography has been a long time hobby of mine as with most
of us. I have shot pictures for a local newspaper in Florida, a women's
magazine, and three wedding photographers. I am currently working part-time
as a wedding photographer here in this area and hope to go full time with
the new career within a year. I know some don't think much of wedding
photographers (like shooting fish in a bowl I've heard), but I love
capturing emotion on film and making other people happy with the images I
produce. I shoot mostly photojournalistic wedding coverage and love other
kinds of photography as well to broaden my horizons and stretch my artistic
wings.

So now everyone, please, tell me about you.....!
