I first met Boris back in the early 2000's when he became MP for Henley, replacing Michael Heseltine. Since, I've probably filmed him a dozen or so times over the years. He may appear a stumbling buffoon but I can tell you that he is a very sharp cookie, very aware if what's going on around him and extremely intelligent. He sometimes puts himself into situations that others wouldn't dream of, such as: <http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02295/olympics-zip-wire- _2295631c.jpg> Images like these are a dream for newspaper and broadcast media. Boris is the kind of bloke who'll give something a go and damn the consequences. Some people find that attitude unusual and refreshing in the staid rule-ridden world of politics. As for his appointment as foreign secretary, there are some who would say the new PM us keeping her enemies close where they can be controlled. Others would say that his tough stance on Europe will be useful in taking no shit from stuffy Brussels eurocrats. He is fluent in French and German. Love him or hate him, he will make some sort of splash. I will tell you one thing though - as a future Prime Minister (if indeed he calms down just a tad and stays out of trouble) he would be a total British bulldog, I have no doubt.
