That's an excellent business explanation of the cost of selling. For myself, doing things on a (wife, 2 sons, & a mortagage) budget, boxes (for other than Priority) are also free as they come out of dumpsters behind shoppin centers. Same with packing peanuts and styrofoam sheets. Some shops throw them away by the bag-full. To me, it's free packing material. That stuff ain't free.
Collin *************************************************** Subject: Re: Canadian Ebayers Remember that is an international shipment. Even for US to US shipments it is not outrageous. I lost money on my first sales because I did not realize that. $5 for postage, $1 for packing materials, $1.50 for a box (I can ship Priority Mail just as cheap because the free box makes up for the difference in postage), a couple of bucks for time gas, etc; and you have $10. Then buyer's want to use their credit cards, so 3% or so off the top, let's stick that into the ssh. I now charge $15 for Priority Mail in the US. If I was shipping to Canada, I would need to add $5 to that. Shipping the other direction wouldn't be any cheaper, so I would say the guy is not trying to take you for a ride.
