I've always thought of NR as something used to smear over grain and noise... 
and I've always used it sparingly if at all because I never really thought it 
helped.

RAW files that are re-processed with "Process 2010" in LR3 and then have some 
luminance NR applied look GREAT.  A file which was underexposed and processed 
with LR2 at high ISO would have color blotches and luminance noise all over it. 
 With the "Process 2010" it just has noise (which looks like grain) and NO 
color blotching.  The difference, simply put, is stunning.

Makes a guy want to go try out some super-high ISO stuff on the K7.  I think I 
will....
