Paul, Bruce and Peter Thanks for your thoughts. Peter, Did you make dummy AA 
cells out of wood with contacts and wire running outside the flash case ? I do 
use Rc car packs to power my 120J and my D1x bodies.You can also make your own 
pack. I see some packs as high as 5800Mah...Joe

NiMH C cells are fairly easy to come by; in Oz JarCar sell them, not sure 
anywhere else, but any electronics stockist should have them.  The ones I 
have seen are 4500MAh.

The other alternative is the AA->C cell adapters, but of course this limits 
you to the capacity of AA batteries; though they are then cheaper and more 
universal.
