Not sure, now that you say it... My understanding was that this is not about the user-configurable NR that you find in the in-camera menus, but rather how you deal with the noise floor on the sensor itself. I imagine that setting the threshold for the noise floor may be a business decision different with each maker. I think it was in a test in a Norwegian photo mag that I picked this up.
