I find the K7 slightly less noisy than the K20D. Can't remember how noisy my *istD was. But I would expect the *istD to be a bit less noisy due to the lower resolution. However, the K7 exposure is very accurate, so overall noise performance is generally better than any of the Pentax digitals I've owned (*istD, 10 and 20)-- I rarely have to "bump up" the exposure.
