Thanks for that, and yeah, that would be me - got the K20D at Adorama
during that 3-day $699 kit sale.
Got the Kodak printer today (before I read your email) and have actually
been quite pleasantly surprised with it. It was $190 @ Best buy, plus my
wife had some sort of 10% off coupon, bringing it down to about $171
plus tax. The cartridges are $10 for black, $15 for color (5-pigment) or
$22 for the pair, which is quite cheap compared to that P-O-S Lexmark
she's had for a while, while, which I STRONGLY argued against her
buying :)
I ended up getting the Kodak ESP 7, which has built-in Ethernet and
WiFi, which was a BREEZE to set up - it was printing within 20 minutes,
from breaking the tape, to getting output. I was also surprised to find
out that it also has duplex (double-sided) printing, and has 2 trays: 1
for 4x6 or 5x7 print paper, and then the standard A4/8.5x11-sized
adjustable tray. I dropped a photo of hers on the scanner bed, and
pressed "copy" and it made a pretty darned good copy for her, so she was
also happy. The WiFi is kick-butt - we usually surf/play in the living
room on the laptops, and the printers are in the master bedroom near the
desk, so this will be a MOST welcome feature!
Quality seems pretty good, expecially for the price - maybe later when I
get REALLY serious about getting printed output, I'll get something up
to the task, but for the next year or 2, this will probably suffice.
I'm hoping to be able to afford the Pentax K2000 in White for her when
it's released, as I know she saw it and liked it, and then I can drag
her kicking-and-screaming into the dSLR world with me :) Right now, she
has some sort of HP P&S that came combined with one of those teeny-weeny
HP photo printers (the 4x6 portable) and I have been teaching her to use
my K20D, well, whatever I've learned so far...
