Jack, Bill,

last time when i had taken the enfield, i had to manually fiddle around
with the air screw to increase the air flow...

this time i had taken a 'modern' (read japanese) bike and my friend had
brought an enfield with what is called a CV carburettor (Constant
Vaccum?) and we didn't have to make any kind of adjustments at all.
we've also heard of bikers removing the air filter itself completely but
have never had to do it ourselves...

regards, subash
