thank you Bob. we start from new delhi (600-odd feet) and by the end of
day 1, we are in the lower himalayas (about 5,000 ft). we spent the
first week of the ride at altitudes between 10-14,000 ft, so that by
the time we hit the really high altitudes in the second and third
weeks, we are already acclimatized, though, like Bill said, any kind of
physical exertion still really drains you...
