No, the lightsphere doesn't squash. I have a bag just for flash equipment, and 
it fits nicely in there. But I will probably keep it mounted on the flash most 
of the time, because I can still shoot bare flash or ceiling bounce just by 
removing the cover and aiming the flash as normal. (Actually, in ceiling bounce 
position, you still get some fill from the globe, even if the cover is 
removed.)  I've duct taped it to the flash so it can't be knocked off. Unless I 
decide that I like one of my other diffusers better, I'll leave it on the flash 
most of the time, taking it off only to mount my Kalt Xtender.
