Th 1D series is the clack-clack type as well, with no wheeze.

I have a neat trick though: there's a user pref that allows not only
mirror lock up but also a time gap before the mirror drops back down
after exposure. Viz:

First trip of the shutter and the mirror bounces up. (Of course, the
finder is now blacked out, so this only works well with shooting-from-
the-hip or whatever you want to call it).

Second trip of the shutter and the exposure is made - but if the finger
is kept on the shutter release, the mirror stays up after the exposure,
only bouncing back down after the finger is lifted off the shutter release.

So, you get a 'clack.......click...........clack'.

I assume one knows that a clack is louder than a simple little click :-)
