Try Laphroig ten year old. The Lagavulin will taste like honey after the Laphroig. Every Islay I've sampled has a strong peaty flavor. I've always thought they tasted like they were in a fire. I enjoy that. Many don't. The Lagavulin is actually among the least medicinal of the lot. By the way, the Scots drink them with a bit of water added. Try the Lagavulin on the rocks, but don't tell anyone:-). As I mentioned in another thread, the pretense among many non-Scot single malt drinkers is that they have to be taken "neat."
