Inferior means slower or less accurate?
My experience is that the DS AF is slower. I haven't tested on accuracy since 
it is more difficult to do in a short time.

(maybe my DS has some problem with its AF...since this is a common complaint 
with this model, I have never thought about it...)

I've got an EOS 10D (Same AF system as the 350D) and it's inferior to 
the K100D's AF in low light. That said, the Canon's do handle multiple 
sensor AF better than anybody else (I always set my Nikons and Pentax's 
to single point with the centre sensor selected and leave them there).
