The only caveat is the dish electronics ( I forget the name of it, its some sort of RF amp or frequency convertor or both) still need power for the SAT receiver/DVR to have a good signal to continue recording. jco

What's "wow" about that? I'm sure many of us use a UPS for our PCs; I've got one that's earmarked to be put on my DirecTV TiVo boxes the next time I power down the A/V rack. That way I'll be able to record shows even if there's a power dropout.
