Read it CAREFULLY. All DVD Players shipped in the USA must be set to Region 1. It is not legal for the manufacturer to provide information or any other means of changing the region code to allow the playback of DVD's from other regions. Let me help you parse these two simple sentences John. Sentence 1: "All DVD Players shipped in the USA must be set to Region 1". Set to Region 1. It doesn't say you can't change it from region 1. So guess what? When I bought my multi-region DVD player it was set to Region 1. HAHAHAHA! Sentence 2: "It is not legal for the manufacturer to provide information or any other means of changing the region code to allow the playback of DVD's from other regions" Manufacturer to provide. If someone besides the manufacturer provides it, it's not illegal. HAHAHAHA! Your reasoning that it's illegal because Circuit City and Best Buy doesn't sell them is foolish, foolish, foolish. They also don't sell multi-color flashing LED underwear, but it doesn't mean it's illegal to sell or buy them.
