WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?, YOU HAVENT PROVIDED ANY EVIDENCE EITHER that it isnt a legal issue. I dont have any higher "burden of proof" on my statements than you do on yours.
Secondly, they are not "ripping off" ***anybody*** with DVD player and disk sales because YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THEM. I would like the lowest possible prices on all my entertainment hardware and media like anybody else, but to say they are "ripping people off" by pricing it anyway they like to is absurd. Thats their right and perogative. Since when does someone HAVE to sell something of THEIRS at a certain time and a certain price everywhere in the world? Since NEVER, that's when. As I said, you don't have to buy DVDs or DVD players or go to the movies if you dont like the prices they are ASKING for their products and services. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bob W Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2007 6:55 PM To: 'Pentax-Discuss Mail List' Subject: RE: OT - for those of you whohaveDVD equipthat can playPAL systemDVD's > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of J. In any case, to answer your question, the system was developed so that the publishers could stagger releases, as you've already said, and so that they could enforce price differences in different regions. There is no benefit whatsoever to the consumer. The benefits, such as they are, are to the producers. The whole thing is a scam designed to rip people off to the maximum extent. In countries whose governments are not in the pockets or up the arses of the corporations the legislature have rightly concluded that the voters are being ripped off, and have declared regionalisation of this type to be illegal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout -- Bob -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
