Jostein, I rely on my *istD to focus *exactly* where I want if there is enough light and I shoot on AF. I did not perform any formal test, but my *istD sample never let me down so far. Also of course I verify for focus in VF. Having said that, I admit, there are times when I turn to MF, though rarely.
